ぶあいそ猫と日常を撮ってみる: アメショのマーブル柄で遊んでみた Coat pattern of American shorthair

家のシルバー・タビーのアメショは、たまに家に遊びに来る知人や出入りの業者の人などからよく「きれいな柄ですね～」と褒められます。黒、白、グレイのモノトーンのマーブル柄がシックなのと、さらによく見ると、一見とりとめのない奔放な図柄に見えて実はほぼ左右対称になってるんですね。

このアメショの左右対称柄の遺伝的（進化論的）な由来につていては非常に興味がありますが、ググっても出てこない。動物の左右対称柄ってなんのため？

My cat is an American shorthair boy with brocked coat. He sometimes gets a lot of praise for his appearance from people who visit my house. They say, "What a beautiful coat pattern he has!"
Indeed, his marble pattern coat color, black, white and grey, looks so chic. And at first grance, the pattern seems to be irreguｌar, but it is beautiful left-right symmetry roughly.
I have great interested in genetic (evolutionary) rationale of the symmetry. For what their coat have evolved in this way?

そのアメショの柄ですが、常々、どっかで見たような、何かに似てる....と思っていたらこれでした。

I have thought all along that I've seen the pattern of my cat somewhere before or felt it is similar to something... Oh, this is it! The marble cake's pattern. Look delicious!
